About
We are a collaborative fiction writing website that is centered around internet horror. The website has many influences such as SCP, creepypastas, analog horror, the backrooms, cryptids, and more! The basic lore is that a group of people on the internet started attempting to make a catalogue of anomalous phenomenon. This sets us apart from other projects such as SCP as the organization that runs the fictional database is not a massive group with great power, but just some people on the internet. Not all articles however are canonically written by this group, some articles and other pieces of media originate from other timelines, only to end up falling into our universes. When they are discovered, they are then added to the Database of Unexplained Mysteries. Along with in-universe articles, we also include tales that take place in the universe of Unexplained Mysteries.
The central thesis of our website is in the name, "Unexplained Mysteries". While writings on this website can have lore to them, many aspects of their existence should remain unknown. This sets us apart from many other collaborative fiction projects. Because of our focus on the unknown, what is not written is just as important as what is written.
